Class Schedule

As of August 30, 2010

Little Dragons

The Little Dragons course is designed specifically for children 4-7 years old. These classes are designed to teach students the foundation of martial arts principles: discipline, respect, and coordination. These skills are necessary for not only martial arts training but for any activity that the child might choose to do in life. Little Dragons do not receive standard rank, instead they earn their own set of dragon belts. These belts require less material to earn than the traditional belts, this allows the children to see the results of their training sooner and learn goal setting appropriate to their ages. At the end of the Little Dragon belt progression a student can graduate to the advanced class with a green belt in the traditional belt system.

Beginners

This class is for 8-12 year old students. Separating the beginners into their own class allows for us to be more focused on the development of basics to ensure that the students will have a firm foundation to build on. This also allows us to have a more age appropriate class. Students will be guided to learning positive character traits as well as the physical benefits that come with Martial Arts training.

Advanced Juniors

The more advanced juniors are able to cover more material in each class. Having their class separate allows for focus on the more advanced material and more opportunity to expand beyond the standard curriculum of training.

Silver Dragon Team

The Silver Dragon Team (SDT) is a class specifically for students who show black belt excellence and dedication early in training. This class is designed to be fast paced and cover advanced concepts. Students in this class are expected to display their superior effort in every class and in pursuit of all other goals as well. Students can qualify to join the SDT as early as yellow belt.

Make-Up Class

This class is open to all students that have missed one of their designate classes. The primary intent of the class is to give students a chance to make up for a missed class, however, some students choose to use this class as part of their regular schedule when they have a recurring conflicting activity during the other classes.

Adults

Adult's and teens above age 14 have their own class because adults and older teens generally have different goals and require different training methods from children. This class allows all students to train at full potential. Our focus is using traditional technique and training for application in practical self defense and to increase overall fitness.

Open Floor Friday

This time is set aside for students to train on anything they feel they need to work on. Black belts are present so that questions can be answered and all of the equipment is available for use. This is not a guided class, so it is important for students to be self motivated when training during this time.
